Vlad Tepes Dracula
Vlad Tepes, known also as Drakula, Dracula or Drăculea.
He was son of Vlad II Dracul, voivode of Wallachia (1390 - 1447). Vlad Tepes Dracula was born at the and of 1431, in the fortress of Sighisoara, Romania. More precisely in Transylvania. They say he was a member of "Order of the Dragon", something like "Knights of the Hospital of St. John" at the west. "Dracul" in Romanian language, means "Dragon". Their goal was to protect Christians from Turks. Drakula became known for his brutal punishment techniques. He often ordered people to be decapitated, skinned, hanged, boiled, blinded, strangled, burned, nailed, buried alive, cut off noses, ears, ... He was particularly known throughout his land for his fierce insistence on honesty and order. Almost any crime, from stealing and lying to killing, would be punished by impalement.
One of the first movies about Dracula was Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens , ("Terror of Dracula") in 1922, with Max Schreck playing Graf Orlok.
